Our research
Our programme offers a range of nuclear related projects across all five of our partner institutions with a breadth of nuclear expertise that spans a range of disciplines.
Recruitment
The final cohort for this programme has been recruited, explore our new SATURN CDT for exciting opportunities. We are open to industry partnerships and school engagements.
GREEN aims to develop and deliver the research and skills required to address key challenges in the field of nuclear energy across the entire fuel cycle.
Researchers in our CDT will carry out research that underpins the safe and extended operation of existing reactors and the future development of safe, secure and sustainable new build nuclear power plants in addition to back end research on spent fuel, decommissioning and waste management.
Being part of the programme removed the "blinkers" associated with a traditional PhD project.
Gaining an understanding of a wide range of topics from fields that were not directly related to my project was a huge benefit.
